Submitted for your approval, Paul Christoforo, age 38, former-president of PR firm Ocean Marketing, who as of now should be cleaning out his office. Didn't we use to have a template for leaders of Anonymous? I could have sworn it was on pages like Paul Fetch and moot and some others but it is nowhere to be found. I am thinking it may have been deleted on ED.com before the exodus and before Archive.org got their scrape of the site (which is what ED.ch is built from), because I looked for it there and couldn't find it. Anyways, I know it's a long shot but does anybody have it, or have a screen shot of it? I don't remember the actual name. It might have been Template:Leaders or something of the sort, that is what I looked for at Archive.org and came up with nothing. I notice that the list of queues for the main page updates has been running a little sparse lately, although we're supposed to keep them updated up to a week in advance. Some suggestions:

GNA/AOTN:

  • December 21, 2012 - We should strike while the iron is hot, and feature this for the New Year.
  • MuchoSucko.com - The last and most active of the great shock sites. Ogrish & Rotten.com are basically dead, 2girls1cup is oldmeme, etc. MuchoSucko looks like a keeper. Yes I wrote it, fuck you.
  • WeatherManKevin - Given the recent events surrounding this lolcow, I'm shocked it hasn't already been queued. Putting him on the main page would only result in moar lulz.
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - This article/game was important enough to get mention in the 2011 year in review. We should feature it the day we have the Arrow to the Knee VOTN featured. It's still quite popular, thus, worthy of lampooning.
  • People Article - I saw this gem in recent changes and saw that it's been around since the move, but only has ~1,000 pageviews. I feel it deserves a little more. Not AOTN, but some type of exposure.

I'd make all these changes myself (I've done a few QOTN already) but I only received the ability to do so recently and I don't want to be a presumptuous asshole. Powers that be, tell me what you think.

  • To those wondering, there is in fact a POTN set up for tomorrow. I set one up to be featured for the 10th, and it appeared to be queued correctly on the /tomorrow page. If it does fuck up when the page changes, it'll be an easy fix. If you're talking about the 11th, then, that is also no big deal. For the better part of the last week we have been living "hand to mouth" with POTN and I'm okay with that. I have a bank of images on my computer that I go to when nobody suggests anything lulzier. However, while having a very small queue of pictures (less than 2 days) is a tolerable lifestyle, it is not luxurious. If you have the next big lul sitting in your /b/ folder or something, please let us know. I'd be happy to consider your shitty content to be featured on the main page, as would many EDitors and SySops. ED is a community. A fucked up community.

Proposal For Justification

I've been seeing quite a number of people running around putting crap-stubs on articles as well as deleting articles outright and banning users, often under the description of "not good" or "looks like shit" (those were two that were used on one of "mine"). I've also seen the "not funny" line thrown around quite a bit. It seems to me that if you're going to propose that an article should be deleted that:

1. You should actually ~read~ the article AND the talk page.

and...

2. Actually come up with valid, explainable reasons as to ~why~ it should be deleted, or, better yet, how it can be improved...perhaps some kind of bullet list or check-off form?

There are also some articles that, honestly, don't really need or have tons and tons of content. It should be more about QUALITY than QUANTITY. For example the Nef_Quintero article, it'd be great if there ~was~ more content to add, but the 4Chan kiddies pretty well ended that when they mass trolled him to the point where he simply dropped off the face of the grid completely. There's certainly not a ton of content on the page, but what's there (mostly taken from The FaceBook Troll site and 4Chan) is really, really freakin hilarious to say the least bit. I didn't even hear about the kid until a full year after he went net.dead, that's how much his stuff has been circulating.

Or there could be a new classification all together, instead of classifying them as full articles maybe they can be classified as "one-hit-wonders" or "one-shots" or something like that, along with a portal specifically for them. I imagine that there's quite a lot of really great material that could be added, but hasn't, simply because there hasn't been enough to make a full article about it. --Onideus   08:37, 11 January 2012 (CET)

The Georgia Varley could've grew into a great article, but then it was redirected and protected, even though the article was less than five hours old. Also, the article was created soon after we were criticized by Sylvia Lancaster and MP for Rossendale and Darwen Jake Berry for mocking Sophie Lancaster's death: [1], [2]. We missed a great opportunity to generate animosity (and the drama, lulz, and publicity that comes with it) between ED and the UK. Also, the Wikipedians are refusing to document the drama .ch causes unless that drama is Australia-sized: wikipedia:Talk:Encyclopedia_Dramatica#Article_in_The_Bolton_News. A request

Can we please not give indefinite full protection for articles in main space because of an edit war / dispute / vandalism. Why? Well, given time any idiot that wishes to vandalize an article they got mad over will eventually give up and go away. So by fully protecting it indefinitely, sure the idiot can't get to it, but once they leave all it's doing is blocking legitimate users from improving the article which is what a wiki is all about. AOTN - a call for Lulz

Hate to sound like a broken record but I'm here to say what I said a few posts up. It's probably my OCD, but I feel I should let you all know we are without an AOTN in queue. The main page is scheduled to take the next one from the queue in about half a day, and I won't be on to check ED until after that time passes. On the AOTN page I have made room for the next WEEK's worth of featured articles to be placed - please try and fill those with appropriate content. If you have a suggestion, let the nearest EDitor know, or if you are a SySop, take matters into your own hands and put up some fucking shweet content for the world to see.

An AOTN should be well-written, topical, relevant, and lulzy. So here are some possible avenues to take:

  • In the coming weeks we'll probably want to feature another Football type article (I love Zaiger's 18-1 suggestion) since it is so very widely followed. For this reason alone I hope the Patriots make the SuperBowl.
  • SOPA is once again flaring up like the STD that it is. Reddit, Wikipedia, and even your beloved ED have considered blackouts in protest of the legislation.
  • You can search through the revision history of Main Page/GNA and see if one of your babies is still relevant today.
  • Or, you could of course find an old favorite, so long as it hasn't been featured in a few months. There's no rule against that.

I would enjoy more participation on the TJC so that you can be the change you want to see. This is the place to do it. I And if you ever wanna talk, feel free to spam my talk page with nudes and insult me via e-mail.
