Cheryl Griffiths AKA "Equal Justice" AKA "Willgotonineveh" AKA "magister" AKA "Your Royal Hiney" is the current Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Media Director of the Sex Offender Support and Education Network SOSEN. She is the mother of a convicted repeat sex offender, Ian Matthew Woods, classed as a sexually violent predator and currently being held in the Florida Civil Commitment Center.
Cheryl first arrived on the RSO activism scene in the now defunct SOhopeful International group. She was soon thrown out because of her extreme views. Cheryl quickly found a new home in S.O.S.E.N., where much of the membership consisted of people who, like Cheryl, had been expelled as radicals from SOhopeful (which was publicly condemning S.O.S.E.N. at the time as "Totally Distorted" and their methods as "Deplorable.")
Quickly moving up through the ranks of S.O.S.E.N., Cheryl became a board member and played a role in conspiring and overthrowing the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the time, Shirley Lowery. In the place of Shirley, Linda Pehrson took over the role of CEO with Cheryl acting as her COO.
Inside and outside of the S.O.S.E.N. online forums Cheryl consistently made a name for herself by placing the blame for the actions of sex offenders, like her son, upon victims of sexual abuse and society at large; Cheryl's aggression towards victims knew no bounds, describing them as "disgusting" and claiming that there's not anything lower than someone who describes the sexual abuse they suffered.

Lee-Lee, I am not equating my son's story with your son in any way except to say I know just how you feel. I spent a lot of time in perpetual concern when my son was allowed to come to Fl. on probation. He has begun drinking again. He never got caught by his parole officer and I was very close to telling her myself (about his drinking) when he was rearrested.
The one reason I am not CRAZY about him being committed is because I can see how his behavior was escalating over time.
Perhaps his being where he is has kept him from doing something worse (like raping someone). In another thread you were talking about exhibitionists and OCD. Your post really struck me. That is what my son likes to do. He is also a compulsive masturbate. I think this is going to be hard for him to kick...altho he has NEVER done it in public at the Center (that I know of). If we could just get it thru these kids heads that ALL of their behavior has consequences and sometimes those consequences are life long ones.

So, what’s funny about people we know who are self-proclaimed crusaders? Well…there is a rather geeky fellow (perhaps in a bad cape?) who runs around seeing pedophiles behind every tree. Perhaps his glasses are so bad that everyone he meets he yells in a shrill voice, “pedophile!!!” (sort of a cross between the bird screaming “serpent” in Alice in Wonderland and the church lady from Sat Night Live) and when he doesn’t get his way, he throws himself on the floor screaming, “corporate pedophile, you’re a corporate pedophile”. Then Chris Handsom comes in and begins to interrogate the representatives of wikipedia, myspace, or the parking enforcement officer…
Whatever, you get the idea.
I already know that we have many members here who are a real hoot!
Lets really put some effort into this and come up with some ideas…scripts for possible videos. I am thinking like SNL newscasters, man on the street with pedophile meter finding pedophiles everywhere and Chris Handsome pops out and starts to interview them…

I agree that using comment areas are a valuable, FREE way to reach people. It is important to do it in a well reasoned, calm, agreeable way. It also helps if we approach the subject from an "we need to protect the children" angle. We all know these laws do not do that, and put children in MORE danger...so lets point that out. I think people listen to that much better than a "I'm a sex offender and I am not being treated fairly" angle..
There is nothing that anyone could possibly say in defense of this man and the garbage he spouts. I know he knows the truth regarding former sex offenders because we have educated him multiple times, but hey, the truth just does not have the same draw as making sensational claims and accusing people who are actually trying to "protect the children" of enabling pedophiles. The man is an obnoxious jerk and he is dangerous because he has a platform from which to spout his destructive lies.
I cannot tolerate the "my offense was not as bad as your offense" way of thinking and WILL not tolerate it in our forums.
There is a difference in Romeo and Juliet offenses in my opinion though.
If America doesn't start learning facts before judging and stop reacting hysterically to vote seeking, lying politicians, we will not be much different from Nazi Germany.
