In late 2016, LazyTown had a resurgence following a mass-spawning of horrific mutations of media mashups centered around one of the show's songs; We Are Number One. Most variations of these shitposts follow the "Every 'One' is replaced with X" formula. Like all memes, this got old within a day, but there are some bored-shitless motherfuckers out there who waste hours making hundreds of these.
Also, in 2016, Stefan Karl Stefansson , the actor who played Jay Leno lookalike "Robbie Rotten" in the show was diagnosed w/ cancer. Youtubers who had been making the WANO meme vids came together to raise jewgolds for Stefan in order to pay for his chemo. If only the interwebs could manage to chemo 4chan.(We can only dream.)
The meme comes full circle
Regardless of the blatant copyright infringement used for meme'ing on YouTube, the Official LazyTown Channel on YouTube began to play along with YouTubers; They began uploading official hourlong remixes, and for some reason even the full episode which this deliciously dank meme came from.
The real treat came though, when the remixable stems for the song were dropped by Stefan himself on YouTube, along with a live version.
