Once again about racemixing gallery

This is to continue a discussion that had previous taken place here. Okay, so after I started uploading some new files for then race-mixing gallery

A user "meepsheep" banned me halfway through, okay I understand he has personal vendetta with me, but lemme at least finnish uploading, isn't it more convenient to have one user uploading the whole set than two users doing the same but interchangeably? It's rather easier to access the whole set by looking at contributions of single user who had uploaded them. Okay, so I finished uploading them by another account. Then I myself single-handedly removed a lot of pics from the gallery, only leaving a few. The rest of pics I wanted to separate into different page (talkpage in this case), which I did. Now the original race-mixing gallery has little pics, just how some of admins wanted, then only was left to add a reference in the article to the bigger gallery, but it was too late for me to do it as I was banned again. Seriously, wtf? And to answer the question "why there need to be a big gallery with all these pics", the answer is quite simple: all these pics are stored on ED anyway, so let's make them all accessible at least. Or would you prefer having a lot of pics just for the sake of it? No, it's more useful for the navigation sake if all these pics are somehow accessible. That's why I was trying to do it. I understood that meepsheep won't let me add all them into article's gallery (because he's actually butthurt about these pics), so I tried to separate them but he didn't let me finish even that! Fine, ban me for whatever time you want, just lemme finnish and you only be seeing the dust left of my footsteps.
so the final question is: are all ED admins unanimous on meepsheep's destructive decision which is about restraining all possible ways of providing an access to all the uploaded interracial pics thus making it easier to see them all at a sitting.

Just let me one more edit, don't do it for me, do it for the sake of ED. Because after all I'm making ED better a little bit. This one edit can slightly improve ED, making a junk of pics accessible at a talkpage of a related article. And don't be afraid to have a different opinion that meepsheep's has on this (because you'd prefer to avoid confrontation with your "friend", but as for me friends who're afraid to speak up their mind worth a damn), that's how democracy works. You should be afraid of letting one to speak for you all because this is how liberty dies and tyranny replaces it. It's like I have constructed some figure off sand on a beach and some naughty kid (meepshep) run through my figure deliberately just for his own pleasure, while he did damage to such a scrupulous prowess. uploading over

Permissions for uploading over files has been set to editors and sysops only, as there is a lot of potential for abuse the previous way. Those of you from ED.com will remember that is how it was there and it worked well. The difference here is that we have the editor user group that dot com didn't have.

There are still a ton of thumbnails still that need to be replaced with their larger versions. If you need to upload over a file you can leave it for a sysop to do or you can apply for editorship yourself. --zaiger (talk) 01:56, 4 April 2012 (EDT)

Addendum: Can someone please set $wgAllowUserCss and $wgAllowUserJs to "true"? That'll be more helpful for those who wish to customize their browsing and editing experience, especially since gadgets basically need be approved by sysops. --JuniusThaddeus 20:57, 23 April 2012 (EDT)
Yeah I don't see why not. Give me a bit to talk to e about it to make sure there aren't any security issues with it first. --zaiger (talk) 03:25, 24 April 2012 (EDT)

Real life GTA in Nashville

A man has committed more than 1 felony per hour since arriving in Nashville, Tennessee. He held 4 hostages at gunpoint and robbed them, but not before tazing at least two. Ok so I guess this will get us blacklisted or something don't don't so it. ALSO, it appears that rollbacking removes the advanced meta (title/keywords/description) from whatever pages it is used on. OhInternet and the Daily Dot

http://blog.ohinternet.com/11618/wikipedia-questionable-content/ – Apparently, OhInternet is upset about the sources used in our Wikipedia article:

We’ll start with a website known as “The Daily Dot,” which, according to Wikipedia (yes, I’m quite aware of the irony here,) is an online newspaper that covers internet topics. It aims to be the “hometown newspaper” of the internet. The site was started by a pop musician who, as far as we can tell, has no background in journalism whatsoever (Fact-checking? What’s that?) This site came to light when one of their writers spewed hundreds upon hundreds of words about the hilarious ShitRedditSays subreddit, most of them ill-informed. A cursory search indicates that The Daily Dot is cited as a reference on a handful of Wikipedia articles, despite being little more than an internet rumors blog masquerading as a legitimate news source. More damning is the fact that the site seems to think the “Men’s Rights” movement is valid and not filled to the brim with misogynistic hate groups.

--JuniusThaddeus 11:25, 20 April 2012 (EDT)

They just mad that we are mentioned in the Wikipedia ED article. Daily dot has had numerous notability hearings or whatever they call it. More Pro-censorship OhInternet propaganda. --zaiger (talk) 16:09, 20 April 2012 (EDT)
While a lot of shitty 'news source' wannabe blogs actually manage to do this all the time, DD doesn't go too far with it. Grab any side of an issue (usually the more popular side), endorse it while maintaining a forced 'professional' tone throughout the blog post, and suddenly you're a legitimate news source. The more controversial the (usually feminist) issue is, the more you rile people into increasing your traffic, regardless of any research (or lack thereof) put into it.
I don't find these guys as bad as OhShit claims them to be. It's just as Zaiger said, they're just buttmad we got coverage, and they could've called out several other poser sites that actually deserve this kind of contempt. It should be OhI's supposed line of work just as much as its ours, but this is exactly what it means to envy something that's doing far better than you. - Vinland 16:39, 20 April 2012 (EDT)

QOTN Suggestion

Wikipedia should not be underestimated as the primary source to create "established truths".

You have a man-crush on him, don't you? Do you dream of bromance while furiously masturbating to his Google results? --zaiger (talk) 18:21, 24 April 2012 (EDT)
His face is like that of a beautiful porcelain-doll; only not as easy to wipe clean. - Mr Jonzz   18:29, 24 April 2012 (EDT)
Suggest putting him in a cell with an al-Qaida member, and dropping in the gay bomb. Wnt 19:06, 24 April 2012 (EDT)
Fuck, what do you think the odds are that the Pentagon actually worked out the fine details of the gay bomb at Guantanamo Bay? Unfortunately the Bush administration was too anti-gay and the Obama administration was too anti-war crime, but maybe there was a window of opportunity right in the middle to do some serious science? Wnt 19:17, 24 April 2012 (EDT)
ok, it's qotn for may 8. :) -hipcrime   14:53, 7 May 2012 (EDT)

Uploading Full Images Broken

For the past x months I've been uploading full images from the Category:Pages Needing Full Images list or when I find a missing image in an article. I've just started doing it again and correct me if I'm wrong but I am sure that when going to the thumbnail or missing image page there was an option to "upload another version of this file" or something like that, but that option seems to have disappeared. So at moment you have to rename the full image which kind of makes doing it a bit pointless 'cos the article pages will still point to the thumbnail, and not the renamed full image. Could this be fixed ? or am I just remembering the process wrong ? Thanks  TUXLIE  20:01, 28 April 2012 (EDT)

reuploading images is disabled for normal users. I think you need to have editor to reupload.TKN 21:38, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
Yeah I will give you privs to upload over images. --zaiger (talk) 21:42, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
also, you could upload with a new filename, for example: tack a "1" at the end, and then edit the article accordingly. :) -hipcrime   21:43, 28 April 2012 (EDT)

Why was overriding old files disabled? When did this happen? --JuniusThaddeus 22:13, 28 April 2012 (EDT)

earlier this month. Zaiger said thats how it was on .com TKN 22:17, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
It was disabled on the original ED, but I don't believe that it should be done here. We shouldn't limit the freedom of users. --JuniusThaddeus 22:31, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
  • Smart move. It'll keep butthurt faggots from replacing caps with shit pics. Are you butthurt?  BAWWW here. 22:19, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
It's reversible. It can be reverted just like any other form of vandalism. --JuniusThaddeus 22:31, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
"We shouldn't limit the freedom of users" I lol'd. There has been a lot of uploading-over vandalism lately. It's staying that way. If someone needs privs they can just ask for them. --zaiger (talk)
Why was everyone, including me, kept out of the loop on this? --JuniusThaddeus 22:51, 28 April 2012 (EDT)
it's been up there^ for over three weeks. :\ -hipcrime   04:40, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
There isn't a loop to be kept out of. I posted it on TJC as soon as I did it. Sorry I don't know your home number to call you for permission every time I plan on changing a configuration. --zaiger (talk) 22:45, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
Alright. --JuniusThaddeus 23:41, 29 April 2012 (EDT)
#uploading over btw TKN 16:26, 3 May 2012 (EDT)
Thanks for giving me privs to continue to upload images Zaigler. You have made me one happy bunny  TUXLIE  23:22, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
