If you want to help cure ALS by not making a jackass of yourself by pouring water on your head, donate your ice bag and bucket money to the ALS Association. www.alsa.org/donate |
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a meme and one of the latest trends currently festering every social networking site on the internet. The point of the challenge is to waste ice-cold water by dumping it on somebody's head for literal shock value.
It was created to raise awareness for some illness that nobody suffers from and nobody has ever heard of. Likewise, nobody is interested in hearing about the disease, as they only care about seeing their favorite idol increase their chances to catch pneumonia, or some idiot kid accidentally get nailed in the head by a tractor or bucket full of water.
It's worth noting that more people have died from this challenge than people who actually die from the disease it aims to save your life from.
Rules
If at any point you're challenged to have ice water poured on your head, you are presented with two options:
- Do it
- Donate $100
Failure to comply will result in contracting the illness that they're raising awareness for. Symptoms of this disease include difficulty speaking and reduced motor abilities, however those types of handicaps wouldn't have much of an effect on someone like you, now would they?
If you decide to participate in the challenge, you must publicly challenge three more people to keep this fad going viral. For good measure, you should only challenge the elderly and children in Africa.
The Reality of It
The ice bucket challenge is a perfect example of how a money-hungry scheme becomes successful by capitalizing on the current progression of technology and its accompanying trend of social networking. In this case, disguising it as innocent fun, even though this "fun" has resulted in the deaths of several people already, including teens who will now never get to grow up and experience adult life because they wanted to outdo all the other attention-starved fucktards participating in the trend.
Even if people choose to get wet instead of pony up a Benjamin, their talentless video is still bringing attention to the scheme and thus encouraging other people to kill themselves on camera.
Keep in mind that every time you see a famous person accepting the challenge, it means that they would rather give themselves a cold than pay a measly $100. Yes, they would rather embarrass themselves on camera for a cheap laugh than shell out a hundred bucks. If famous people don't want to spend money helping this cause, then why should you?
Deaths
More to come!
Jewtube Fails
Of course with every social media challenge, there are 13 year old boys and 16 year old girls who don't do it right
or gets shit and piss all over them.
